Within our Organ & Tissue Donation & Transplantation (OTDT) Directorate, to ensure we truly honour the gift of donation, we are continually driving to improve our services and operations. We therefor have a significant number of transformation programmes in progress, including Digital Offering, the establishment of a national Assessment and Recovery Centre (ARC) service, and Sustainability and Certainty in Organ Retrieval (SCORE).
All these transformations require clinical oversight and leadership for effective implementation across our OTDT Hub Operations team.
You will require in depth clinical knowledge regarding the organ allocation schemes in use across OTDT, including the regulatory environment and impact on information services,
As a proven leader, you will have an innovative, problem-solving approach, with dynamic stakeholder management skills and experience in leading and implementing large scale transformation.

This role is based at our NHSBT Head Office, Bristol Filton due to the requirement of face-to-face contact required in the centre. You will be working on a hybrid agreement and not expected to be based in Filton every working day.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will lead programme workstreams impacting on the OTDT Hub, providing expert direction to project teams, shaping and prioritising the changes required, ensuring their benefits are aligned to the programme's objectives and delivering multiple projects end-to-end from conception through to transition to "Business as Usual".
Responsible for designing and implementing complex ongoing and new strategies ranging from fostering collaboration, developing education and leadership within the transplant system, to support innovation and implement the programme objectives.
Working closely with the other members of the SCORE Programme, Digital Offering, and Matching and Offering and with a passionate and diverse group of NHSBT colleagues and clinical/ patient stakeholders, you will help us deliver a "revolution in Organ Offering & Retrieval", bringing tangible benefits and an enduring legacy to patients and transplant services in the UK
The postholder will play a vital role in the delivery of this strategy, overseeing and leading a large programme of activity within the various programmes. Projects under their leadership will include designing and implementing changes of national significance to the future of organ donation and transplantation, that will also attract political interest and gain international attention.
About You
Experience and Knowledge
Able to formulate, monitor and adjust overall strategies.
Able to develop and deliver training in a range of subjects to groups of specialists and non-specialists.
Excellent short-, medium- and long-term planning skills, developing and structuring complicated programmes across directorates.
Substantial leadership / management experience in a complex organ donation & transplantation (or equivalent) environment
Experience of responsibility for development and delivery in complex projects, of service design, improvement and change processes.
Experience in change and project management.
Experience in preparing/producing robust business cases, reports and presenting reports at senior management level
Experience of Implementing change resulting from Government policy.
Experience of budget management and other financial requirements
Experience of using innovation and/or technology to drive service improvements
An understanding of factors influencing workplace culture
Experience of driving cultural change.
Qualifications and Training
Master's Degree in relevant subject or demonstrable knowledge and experience to Masters' level
