HR Generalist
to join our team on a part-time basis (18 hours per week across 4 days, with flexibility on how those hours are worked). This is a
12-month maternity cover
position, giving you the opportunity to step into a standalone HR role where you'll truly make an impact.
The role is due to start at the beginning of December.
Responsibilities
Managing the full HR lifecycle -- from recruitment and onboarding through to engagement and retention.
Advising managers on HR issues including conduct, capability, grievance, and absence management.
Supporting staff wellbeing through HR systems, communication, and resources.
Ensuring HR policies and procedures are compliant with UK employment law and reflect best practice.
Maintaining accurate HR databases and employee records (with GDPR in mind at all times).
Coordinating training records, probation reviews, and appraisals -- making sure nothing slips through the cracks.
Escalating complex HR matters and ensuring a fair, consistent approach across the business.
Running payroll accurately and on time in the Payroll Managers absence.
What we're looking for:
CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience) with strong all-round HR knowledge - ideally within an SME or standalone position.
Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
A confident communicator who can balance empathy with professionalism.
Someone highly organised, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach.
Why this role is exciting:
You'll be the go-to person for all things people-related -- a trusted advisor in a business where HR really matters.
A flexible part-time role that allows you to balance work and life.
A standalone HR position where you'll have ownership and autonomy day to day.
Be part of a friendly, growing business that values its people as much as its customers.
