We are seeking a proactive and people-focused People Services Support Officer to support the operational and strategic people services functions across a growing network of SEN Schools, Children's Care Homes and Transport Provider. This is a fast-paced and rewarding role requiring excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of safeguarding, compliance, and inclusive people services practices.
Key Responsibilities
Operational HR Support
Assist with recruitment processes including advertising, shortlisting, and interview coordination
Manage onboarding and induction for new staff across all sites
Maintain accurate HR records and oversee compliance with employment legislation and safeguarding standards
Provide first-line support for employee queries, escalating where appropriate Employee Relations & Wellbeing
Support managers in resolving low-level employee relations issues #
Champion a culture of wellbeing, inclusivity, and staff engagement
Coordinate initiatives that foster positive working environments
Policy & Process
Ensure HR policies are up-to-date and aligned with sector-specific requirements
Support implementation of new procedures across the group
Monitor sickness absence, annual leave, and staff performance reviews Learning & Development
Assist in identifying training needs across teams
Coordinate CPD activities and support compliance with mandatory training
Track staff development and provide reporting to senior leaders
Person Specification
Essential
CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) or equivalent HR experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage workload across multiple priorities and sites
Desirable
Experience in education or care,
Understanding of Ofsted and CQC requirements from a staffing perspective
Knowledge of safer recruitment practices
