We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Human Resources Assistant at the 100 Force Support Squadron , Royal Air Force (RAF) Mildenhall , United Kingdom.
What will be your primary role?
As a Human Resources Assistant within the Civilian Personnel Flight, you will serve as the primary point of contact for information and assistance regarding program requirements and processing procedures that relate to the Performance Management and Incentive Awards Programs. You will independently review the subject matter of performance documents to assure required elements are present, returning performance forms with recommended action to bring them into program compliance, as well as provide advice to employees and/or supervisors on legal or regulatory requirements or entitlements related to the incentive awards program. You will provide technical guidance, information, and assistance for a variety of Employee Relations programs such as flexible working, accident reporting, parental leave, length of service, special sick leave, as well as review and analyze employee leave records to determine eligibility and interprets legal and regulatory program guidance. The role involves performing administrative and clerical support duties in support of the Employee Relations Office by serving as the primary administrative assistant for the office, controlling incoming and outgoing correspondence by determining priority, establishing suspense dates as required, referring to the supervisor or appropriate co-worker, and following-up to ensure suspense dates are met. What are the Key Skills required for this role?
1. Knowledge of an extensive body of employee relations rules, policies, methods, procedures, operations, and principles to perform limited technical work of a non-controversial nature.
2. Knowledge of various computer software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs; a qualified typist is not required.
3. Ability to research, analyze, interpret and apply rules, regulations, and procedures.
4. Ability to plan and organize work and meet deadlines.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
What are the conditions of employment for this role?
1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations.
2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential.
3. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period.
4. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.
5. You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
6. You may be required to use own vehicle to meet tentative employees at the visitor center in order to obtain evidence of identity.
7. You must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
8. Hours of work Monday to Friday 0800 -1630. Start and end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with organizations flexible working policies.
