Following record growth over the past three years -- and with ambitious plans ahead -- we are now seeking to strengthen our internal capability through the appointment of an experienced Human Resources Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional with experience in the health or care sector who is confident working across both the operational and strategic aspects of HR.
The Role
Reporting to the Director and working in close partnership with our external HR consultancy, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and compliant running of all HR operations while supporting the company's growth and people strategy.
You will provide proactive guidance to managers and staff, handle complex HR issues, and lead initiatives that enhance engagement, performance, and retention.
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily direction, mentoring, and professional development to the HR Officer, ensuring consistent, accurate, and compliant HR outputs.
Oversee and quality check all HR documentation, correspondence, and advice prior to issue.
Act as the first point of escalation for complex or sensitive HR queries, investigations, and disputes.
Maintain, develop, and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment law and best practice.
Partner with senior leaders to align HR activities with business strategy, workforce planning, and risk management.
Lead on continuous improvement of HR systems and reporting -- including absence, turnover, and training compliance.
Oversee all recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention processes, ensuring they are inclusive, compliant, and effective.
Collaborate with our HR consultancy for specialist advice and support.

Essential Criteria:
Proven HR management experience within the health or care sector.
Level 6 qualification (minimum), ideally Level 7 or equivalent.
Demonstrated ability to manage confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.
Experience providing HR leadership, mentoring, or supervision to team members.
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
