Millpledge Ltd is a long-established, innovative organisation supplying healthcare and veterinary products globally. With operations in the UK, USA, Belgium, and China--and further international expansion underway--we are committed to delivering quality products, service excellence, and operational integrity across all regions.
Our team is collaborative, agile, and forward-thinking. We value people who can work both independently and across functions and borders, supporting our continued global growth.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Manager to lead and deliver HR services across the Millpledge Group of Companies. Based at our UK head office and manufacturing facility in North Nottinghamshire, this role plays a central part in shaping and managing HR operations across our global sites.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will manage one direct report (the Payroll & HR Co-ordinator) and be responsible for both UK-based HR activities and for supporting the wider group internationally. You will work closely with in-country HR agencies and advisers to ensure local compliance, legal alignment, and effective HR practices across the UK, USA, Belgium, China--and future locations.
The role also includes a legal support component, assisting in reviewing and managing contracts and agreements relevant to employment and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Group HR Leadership
Deliver consistent, compliant, and professional HR support across all Millpledge Group locations (UK, USA, Belgium, China, and expanding).
Liaise with external HR advisers and agencies in each region to ensure compliance with local employment laws and practices.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with international teams and line managers to support employee matters globally.
Coordinate and align HR policies across the group, while ensuring region-specific adaptations where necessary.
UK HR Management
Lead the full employee lifecycle within the UK business: recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, development, and offboarding.
Provide expert support on disciplinary, grievance, performance management, and general employee relations issues.
Review, update, and enforce employee handbook policies across both office and plant environments.
Oversee development, communication, and enforcement of internal HR policies and procedures.
Legal & Regulatory Support
Monitor relevant employment legislation and ensure timely adjustments to internal HR policies and practices across all territories.
Assist with drafting, reviewing, and coordinating legal agreements (e.g. employment contracts, supplier and service agreements, NDAs).
Support the Finance Director and senior leadership team on compliance, legal risk, and documentation review.
Payroll & Team Oversight
Line-manage the Payroll & HR Co-ordinator, ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing and benefits administration.
Support alignment between HR and finance, including audit and statutory compliance.
Maintain accurate, GDPR-compliant personnel records across group companies.
