We have just released a revolutionary floor cleaning machine called DRYFT set to change how the world cleans hard floors. You will be working in our New factory next door to our Head quarters in S13 Sheffield.
What you'll be doing?
As HR Manager at MotorScrubber, you will take ownership of all people-related activities across the business, playing a crucial role in driving our growth and supporting our team. Your responsibilities will include:
Recruitment
: This is a significant aspect of the role. You will lead the charge in identifying, attracting, and hiring talented individuals essential to our expanding business. This includes creating job advertisements, conducting LinkedIn searches, managing interviews, extending offers, and ensuring compliance with right-to-work regulations.
Workforce Planning and Organisational Design
: You will support the company in reviewing structures and planning for future needs, working closely with the CEO as a trusted advisor on all people-related matters.
Learning & Development (L&D)
: You will champion learning within the business, setting standards and driving innovative initiatives aligned with MotorScrubber's core values. Promoting a self-learning culture will be key to ensuring team growth and development.
HR Administration
: You will oversee essential HR administrative tasks, including drafting employment contracts, managing onboarding processes, tracking sickness / annual leave and return-to-work documents, and handling weekly timesheets for payroll.
Additional Administrative Duties
: You will support the business with various administrative tasks as needed, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
As HR Manager, you will be responsible for creating and implementing a robust performance management system that aligns individual and team goals with the company's objectives. This will include:
Setting Clear Targets
: Developing measurable and achievable performance targets tailored to each role, ensuring they focus on key metrics such as productivity, quality, and attention to detail.
Incentivizing Performance
: Introducing bonus schemes tied to target achievement, designed to motivate staff and reward exceptional performance. These incentives will encourage employees to take ownership of their work and strive for continuous improvement.
Reducing Costly Errors
: Establishing accountability measures and attention-to-detail benchmarks as part of the performance system to minimize mistakes.

As a rapidly growing business, it is essential that this role is permanently office-based to ensure you are readily available to address staff-related matters, conduct interviews, and provide on-the-spot support. Being physically present in the office is vital to foster strong relationships with the team, drive engagement, and maintain a supportive and collaborative workplace environment.

The role will report to the CEO of the business, sit on the leadership team and be supported by external employment solicitors.
What skills are we looking for?
CIPD qualification would be desirable
Previous experience advising business on both strategic and operational HR matters
Confident to challenge and support managers in a growing SME business
Able to give critical advice on people matters
Very comfortable doing recruitment activities alongside generalist HR
Previous experience in a manufacturing/logistics environment would be beneficial
