We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Hyman Resource Specialists at the 100 Force Support Squadron, Royal Air Force (RAF) Mildenhall, United Kingdom.

What will be your primary role?



The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Human Resources Specialist (Recruitment & Placement) for the Local National Direct Hire program in a developmental capacity, performing assignments that are designed to further develop applicable analytical and evaluative skills and techniques.

You will provide recruitment and placement services for positions in installation-level organizations, receive and review recruitment requests and supporting documentation as well as determine the best methods to fill positions whether through local announcement, paid advertising, etc. and takes appropriate action. You will receive and screen applications to determine possession of qualification requirements and process personnel actions. You will also participate in initiatives, studies and projects such as reviews, exercises, application of draft qualification standards, and out-sourcing studies as well as work with other Human Resources specialists in identifying potential program initiatives or special projects that could improve the use of civilian human resources, solve problems, or enhance program effectiveness.

The successful candidate can start at grade 7 or grade 9 dependent on experience; this position is developmental to grade 11. All training must be completed and regulatory requirements met prior to promotion. Alternatively, if the incumbent has enough appropriate experience, they can be appointed at grade 11; they would then have responsibility for planning, developing and carrying out the full range of recruitment, placement, and related management advisory services for assigned organizations.

What are the Key Skills required for this role?



Has, or is able to learn, knowledge of fundamental Local National Direct Hire (LNDH) affirmative employment, recruitment, and placement principles, concepts, policies, practices, methods, and analytical techniques. To become a grade 11, the incumbent will have knowledge of the full range of these. Knowledge of other HR processes, and at grade 11 experience of applying these, sufficient to relate recruitment and placement issues to them; knowledge of the standard principles and practices of recruitment and placement to apply to issues and problems. Skill in applying basic principles, provisions, laws, regulations, practices, and techniques of staffing and recruitment. Ability to gather and analyze facts and draw conclusions from information. Ability to communicate information clearly, orally and in writing. Ability to plan and organize work. At grade 11, the incumbent will show skill in troubleshooting and resolving the most difficult problems associated with providing comprehensive recruitment and placement advisory services.

What are the conditions of employment for this role?



You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. A valid UK category B driving license is also a requirement for this position. You must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. This position is on a Fixed schedule (ex. Mon-Fri 08.00-16.30) 40.00 hours per week. Start time and end time may be adjusted to fit mission requirements.
