Humidor Manager / Shift Supervisor



We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented

Cigar Humidor Manager

to oversee the operation, presentation, and compliance of our walk-in humidor, cigar retail area and Puffin' Rooms bar. The successful candidate will ensure that all tobacco-related activities comply with UK legislation while maintaining optimum stock levels, accurate pricing, and ensuring exceptional customer service standards are maintained

Key Responsibilities1. Humidor Management

Maintain the humidor environment (temperature and humidity) within optimal ranges to ensure product quality and freshness. Conduct daily checks and record readings in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Manage cleaning, rotation, and display of stock to maintain the highest presentation standards.
2. Stock Control & Ordering

Monitor cigar inventory levels and reorder in line with demand and seasonal trends. Conduct regular stock audits to ensure accuracy and prevent shrinkage. Liaise with suppliers and distributors to ensure timely delivery and compliance with import and tobacco duty regulations. Maintain accurate records for all stock movements, including receipts, sales, and wastage.

3. Shift Supervisor / Manager on Duty



?Ensure premise is presented for service in a clean. Liaise with guests and ensure their positive experience. Supervise staff when Manager on Duty Creation of End of Day reports Key Holder for premise
4. Pricing & Profitability

Ensure product pricing in line with company strategy, supplier costs, and HMRC tobacco duty regulations. Monitor sales performance, recommending promotions or adjustments where appropriate. Ensure all cigars and tobacco products are accurately labelled with compliant health warnings and pricing.
5. Compliance & Legislation

Adhere to all UK tobacco legislation, including the

Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016

, and relevant

guidance. Ensure no sales are made to persons under 18 and that all staff follow

or similar age verification policies. Maintain accurate records for licensing authorities Ensure the humidor area is compliant with fire safety, health and safety, and environmental health standards.
6. Customer Service & Product Knowledge

Deliver expert advice on cigar selection, storage, and pairing. Host or assist with cigar tasting events, brand showcases, and educational experiences for customers. Build strong customer relationships and support loyalty initiatives.
7. Team Management

Train and supervise staff in humidor operations, cigar handling, and tobacco legislation compliance. Ensure staff provide service excellence.
Skills & Qualifications

Strong knowledge of premium cigars, storage, and handling requirements. Understanding of UK tobacco sales legislation and excise regulations. Experience in retail management or hospitality (luxury, specialist, or tobacco retail preferred). Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills. Strong numerical ability and commercial awareness. Confident communicator with excellent customer service skills.
Desirable

Experience managing a walk-in humidor or luxury retail environment.
