Job Description


WGM Engineering have a current requirement for an HV Engineer to join the business on a full time permanent basis. As an HV Engineer you will be responsible for assisting in all delivery preparation activities in and during operational life of programmed work. In your role as a HV Engineer, you will provide full project guidance and ensure that project plans are developed and agreed as the overall work package evolves. This role will work between an office setting and various locations throughout the central belt of Scotland.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of the pre construction design, programme and estimating of construction works alongside the project team
  • Co-ordinating procurement and site activities on a project.
  • Take lead role on site for co-ordinating and supervising HV construction activities and access to areas within HV locations
  • Write and develop switching and commissioning plans for HV activities (up to 11KV)
  • Supervising of electrical site activities including HV installation works (up to 11KV) including production of associated permits and limitations of access
  • Write detailed and accurate Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Expected to be / train to be Senior Authorised Person (SAP) in relation to HV activities and WGM \xe2\x80\x98s own Electrical Safety Rules and be responsible for themselves and others in HV areas
  • Expected to be / train to Approved Person (AP) level in relation to Electrical Safety Rules (ESR) and Isolation Safety Rules (ISR) where appropriate to the role
  • Assist project engineers and the site team with LV scope of work packages
To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous experience within an HV engineering role role, you will possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of team.
