We serve customers nationwide, providing 24/7/365 emergency support to keep the lights on. We assist them in compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 by ensuring an appropriate management system for their HV network is implemented and maintained. We offer a complete turnkey design, installation, and commissioning of new, replacement, or extended infrastructure services.

As part of our ongoing growth, we are seeking a skilled HV Fitter/Cable Jointer to join our team. Where required, we will provide training in the complementary discipline, with opportunities to build a long-term career in a supportive and forward-thinking company.

Field-based, you will be:

Maintaining, repairing and installing a wide range of HV distribution equipment from substation switchgear to distribution transformers; working on all types of cables and containment, along with installing and connecting earthing systems, auxiliaries and protection systems, small power and lighting Carrying out inspections and full intrusive maintenances Fault locating, use of cable avoidance tools and overseeing any necessary excavations Assisting with commissioning works and recording of results, along with submission. Rostered onto a stand-by rota offering 24/7/365 cover Motivated, flexible, hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel and stay away from home when necessary
Primary duties and responsibilities:

We will support, develop and help build on your existing skills to enable fulfilment of the role:

Carry out works in accordance with EME Power Systems Health and Safety Policy Safe Systems of Work and Codes of Practice in line with the levels of authorisation issued. Ensure site safety, including completion of any necessary RAMS Plan and organise all aspects of day-to-day work (activities), including procurement Mentor and support less experienced/new staff
Required:

Full driving licence
Desirable:

NVQ level 2 or above (or equivalent), preferably electrical biased Previous authorisations/competency certificates Formal jointing qualification up to and including 11kV Formal electrical fitting qualification
