HVAC Systems Engineer

The role of HVAC Systems Engineer for Aerius Marine UK sits at the core of our business. From supporting the preparation of tender responses through; development of new HVAC systems, production of design documentation, technical support to commissioning teams and through life design change and upgrades, the role offers a unique opportunity to experience the full product lifecycle.

Your primary responsibilities as a HVAC Systems Engineer will include:



Development of the clients' requirements into viable system designs including the production of:

Engineering drawings

System Grouping

Heat load Calculations

Output calculations

Cooling duty calculations (using psychometric charts)

Heating calculations

Humidification calculations

Air filtration (including Chemical Biological Nuclear and Radiological)

Protected air citadel calculations

Duct sizing calculations

System simulation

Pressure drop calculations

Noise calculations

Cost estimates

Developing and managing the control philosophy for HVAC systems

Equipment specification and selection

Managing the HVAC systems interface with other ship systems, for example:

Platform Management System

Low Voltage Electrical Distribution System

Liaising with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, including:

Technical support to both internal and external client/ supplier design reviews

Integration, validation and safety reviews

Supplier and subcontractor design deliverable reviews including factory acceptance trials

Maintaining design intent throughout the project lifecycle

Produce and develop technical reports and engineering solutions

Manage and maintain an accurate bill of materials and ensure data integrity/completeness

Conduct impact assessments of cross-function design changes

Ensuring ship specification compliance in accordance with the relevant naval engineering standards (ANEP, LR, SOLAS, Defence Standards)

Identify and manage hazards and risks

Required skills and qualifications for a HVAC Systems Engineer:



Essential:



Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (HNC plus vocational experience will be considered)

Chartered Engineer or working towards

Proven design experience with Marine HVAC Systems

Experience with Defence Standards and Classification Societies rules

Proven client interface capability

Proven supplier management capability

Ability to lead engineering teams

Desirable:



Proficient in 2D AutoCAD

Familiarity with system shock requirements

Familiarity with Windchill, Creo-view, Foran, MEP or Revit.

Proficient with Microsoft office, word excel, power point etc.

Understanding/ spatial awareness of HVAC Routed System' installation and maintenance requirements.
