NESI employs circa 850 people across three sites in the UK and imports a wide range of wild and farmed fish and shellfish from all around the world. We are part of the Sealaska Corporation, an Alaska Native corporation formed in 1971 and which is owned by 26,000 Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian shareholders, who are all bloodline descendants of the first settlers to the Americas.

8:00pm - 7:00am with a 1hr unpaid break (40 hours per week)



Accountabilities

Work closely with cross functional site management team to ensure the required hygiene standards are being met, and that the cleaning schedules and cleaning methods are kept up to date. Ensure all staff adequately trained against all the necessary cleaning instruction cards, chemical handling or any other procedure required while performing hygiene tasks. Maintaining training matrix for hygiene activities and have a robust training plan for the all of night shift Hygiene. Conduct daily check to ensure that the team fill in the required process and required paperwork correctly and promptly. Monitor standards to demonstrate improved levels of hygiene or reduced cleaning times. Implement business strategy, assigning roles and tasks to dedicated team members based on their strengths and abilities. Monitoring employee productivity and efficiency providing constructive feedback and coaching. Reviewing and updating CIC's for all equipment, ensuring that all Key Inspection Points (KIP's) are included. Accomplishes department objectives by supervising staff and organizing and monitoring work processes. Support training and development alongside HR in equipping the Team leaders to conduct comprehensive and robust probation and performance reviews within agreed timelines. Oversee Hygiene Team Leaders and Operatives within the process and against the hygiene plans to ensure performance. Supporting Hygiene Manager with mentoring and coaching Hygiene team Leaders and hygiene operatives. Support the implementation of continuous improvement tools into ways of working in Hygiene across the site. Identify and submit proposal and support implementation for opportunities for improvement/innovation and support with development and implementation for action plans to maximize the potential benefits of such opportunities for the business. Assist Hygiene Manager with ongoing hygiene projects. Assist Hygiene Manager with maintaining Hygiene Management System; reviewing and updating relevant documents (records, SOPs, RA etc.). Performing and managing Cleaning Validation, Hygiene Audits and any other internal audits required. Planning workloads, allocating tasks and monitoring progress against targets. Identify and submit proposals and support implementation for opportunities for cost reduction and waste elimination. Controls expenses by gathering and submitting budget information, scheduling expenditures, monitoring variances, and support Hygiene Manager with implementing corrective actions. Oversee the planning and delivery of customer audits/visits which may be announced or unannounced and ensure the team are clear on what is required of them. Ensure that all chemicals are stored and handled correctly, and staff are using appropriate PPE at all times. Ensure that relevant hygiene equipment and machinery are maintained to the highest standard at all times reporting faults to relevant personnel for repairs. Liaise with external service providers ensuring that cost and performance targets are met. Liaise with engineers and production managers to strip down equipment to aid clean down. Liaise with Planning team to ensure adequate time for cleaning is planned. Ensure the site hygiene standard and documentation is audit ready every day. Purchase hygiene consumables, chemicals and ensure stock levels are always managed. Deputizing Hygiene Manager when required

What experiences, knowledge and capabilities do I need to demonstrate?

Experience as a Hygiene Supervisor or Hygiene Team Leader in a Food Manufacturing Environment Good understanding & able to demonstrate people management skills An ability to effectively prioritise a demanding workload to ensure that all KPIs are achieved Effective communication skills both verbal and written as well as leadership skills Good command of English language Computer Literacy (Word, Excel, etc.) A can-do attitude is a must Self-motivated and flexible Ability to communicate efficiently at all levels Good problem-solving skills

Qualifications

Food Safety Level 3 HACCP Level 3 Experience working in High Care environment
