PRIMARY ROLE
The role of the Hygiene & HSE Operative is to ensure that the facilities at 3 sites are always clean and presentable and up to HSE standards.
This role is key to improving factory efficiencies and processes to enable the production team to further improve on throughput.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping surfaces in work areas, receptions, bathrooms, kitchens, and supply closet across 3 sites
Use of scissor lift to access hard to reach areas
Refilling and restocking cleaning supplies and toiletries (hand wash, toilet paper, paper towels)
Maintaining cleaning products and ordering new supplies when necessary
Ensuring the safe use of chemicals and other cleaning solutions within HSE standards
Comply fully with cleaning standards set by the business
Clean the facilities to a high standard- adhering to company safety policies
Be responsible for alerting the line manager to any issues that may impact upon the integrity of the clean
Be responsible for ensuring that waste material is correctly disposed of in accordance with the company's environmental systems
Participate in mandatory site training relating to health & safety, hygiene, and environmental issues
Ensure all activities are carried out and signed off in accordance with hygiene, quality, and safety standards
Perform a variety of cleaning and hygiene tasks as detailed within the cleaning instructions leaflet
Report workplace hazards using STAR books
Lifting equipment pre shift checks
Manage the supply and restocking of the PPE cabinet
Weekly/Monthly full factory clean including extractor sheds, deep clean under shot peening machines
Key Characteristics:
Previous experience in heavy industrial manufacturing environment would be beneficial, with the understanding of basic manufacturing practices and health and safety principles. The successful candidate will be able to work in a busy industrial factory, integrate and work with the existing workforce, communicate well with both factory teams and management and have a good work ethic. They will also be able to work on their own or as a part of a team to accomplish their duties and have good time management skills to ensure their tasks are carried out in a time efficient manner.

Qualifications/Skills
The suitable candidate must hold or be willing to learn to obtain.
A forklift truck licence
MEWP Licence (scissor lift)
Level 3 Health and Safety qualification or similar
