Underwood Meat Company is looking to recruit a Hygiene Operative to join a highly motivated small team at their manufacturing and packing facility based in Holmewood, Chesterfield.

About the Role:

Working in a small meat manufacturing and packing facility, the Hygiene Operative will be responsible for cleaning specific food manufacturing equipment, food production areas, emptying bins and keeping the external yard area clean and tidy.

The Hygiene Operative will be responsible for ensuring good manufacturing practice (GMP) standards are in line with the company expectations.

Main Duties:

- Cleaning machinery and production areas ready for production to start, achieving agreed quality standards
- Follow company food safety and health & safety protocols
- Manual handling up to 20kg
- The use of pressure washers and chemicals
- General GMP duties, to include emptying bins etc.
- Support other areas in the business, as and when necessary

About You:

Experience of working in a similar role is advantageous, but not essential as full training will be provided.

You will have be able to communicate effectively within the team, and have excellent attention to detail.

You will have a flexible attitude towards working hours, tasks, and duties.

Working Hours:

There are 2 Hygiene Operative positions available; hours of work are as below:
Position 1 - Monday to Friday 06:00 - 14:30
Position 2 - Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:30

Hours are negotiable, within reason, and to suit the business needs.

Overtime is available but as business needs dictate.

Salary:

Minimum hourly wage applies.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 37.5 per week
