A bit about the role:

We are looking for a diligent and reliable

Hygiene Operative

to join our team at Yarde Farm. As part of the hygiene team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the factory, whilst reporting to the production Manager on a day to day basis. You will be working in a fast paced environment with our other ice cream enthusiasts and sometimes on your own. An important function of this role is to ensure our customers are kept safe by keeping our working environment clean and safe. You will be responsible for the cleanliness of our production area and machinery. This includes deep cleaning production areas, dismantling and cleaning equipment, and using specialized cleaning tools such as foaming machines, disinfectant sprayers, and fogging machines to ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.

As you can imagine, this role is naturally physical which will help keep you fit where you are on your feet moving around throughout the shift. The aim is to make fantastic ice cream and to keep everything spotless, signed off and maintained to the highest standard to help ensure we continue to achieve our BRC accreditation.

General duties will include, but are not restricted to:

Deep Cleaning:

Conduct thorough cleaning of production areas, including walls, floors, and equipment, to ensure a hygienic environment.

Dismantling & Sanitizing:

Dismantle, clean, and reassemble machinery and equipment to ensure all parts are thoroughly sanitized.

Use of Cleaning Equipment:

Operate cleaning tools such as foaming machines, disinfectant sprays, and fogging machines to meet high hygiene standards. Cleaning of staff areas, canteen, toilets and office. Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.

Waste Management:

Safely handle and dispose of waste materials following factory protocols.

Safety & Compliance:

Adhere to strict food safety, health and safety, and hygiene regulations.

Stock Control:

Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, reporting shortages and restocking needs to supervisors.

Team Collaboration:

Work with other team members to ensure all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Training: Embracing training opportunities and taking ownership of your own personal development.

You'll Have:

Good time management, punctual and reliable

Preferably previous food manufacturing experience

Accurate, with good organisational skills.

Well-developed English language communication skills, both written and verbal

Demonstrates drive and positive approach to work

Team player

Flexible approach

Willingness to learn

Able to work well independently, enthusiastic and self-motivated
