The Hygiene Operative Role encompasses a wide variety of duties including the following:
Issue and re-stocking of consumables and PPE items
In depth cleaning of production equipment, and the fabric of the building, including floors walls and ceilings
GMP support cleaning including removal of floor waste, cleaning drain pots and break time clean down of production machinery
Operation of mobile medium pressure washing systems
Cleaning of racks, frames, trolleys, product trays and floor waste trays
Operation and cleaning of tray wash machine
Sweeping and manual mopping floors
Safely handling and working with chemicals
Ensuring that cleaning equipment and machinery is cleaned after use and stored in appropriate manner ready for next use
Using floor cleaning equipment such as scrubber driers
Attending to body fluid spills and cleaning away residues in a controlled manner
Removal of waste and cleaning bins
Ensure that waste is segregated correctly to follow recycling initiatives and support cost control
Issuing clean laundry items to staff entering the factory
Note that duties within the production environment will involve working in cold, wet and misty environments for prolonged periods
Most tasks are quite physical and often large areas are to be cleaned so Hygiene Operatives require a good level of fitness and flexibility
All cleaning tasks are to be performed to the highest of standards reflecting the focus that Marine Harvest places on Good Hygiene practices, Health & Safety, and Employee well-being
The demands of the business will mean that at times Hygiene Operatives may also be required to undertake Front of House Hygiene Duties including but not exclusively those listed below
Cleaning toilets, urinals and sinks. Male and Female Toilets are all to be cleaned irrespective of gender of hygiene operative
Canteen cleaning duties
Preparing areas as directed ready to receive high profile visitors and clients to create a positive impression
Key Areas:
Undertake any tasks allocated and ensure that tasks are fully completed to correct standard as trained
It is a requirement to be able to work diligently and efficiently to complete tasks allocated in a timely manner without compromising the standard of work
Sign off of relevant paperwork to confirm tasks completed to the correct standard as trained
A willingness to work flexibly and follow instruction from Team Leaders and Hygiene Managers

Experience:
Previous experience of cleaning is of advantage but training will be given:
There are several shift patterns and there may be a requirement to work 12 hour shifts, including work at weekends and on some public holiday days.
