IBA Analyst - FTC (12 months)



Type of Role: Hybrid (3 days office and 2 from home)



Report to: Group Financial Controller



Description



The IBA Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's insurance broking accounts. This role involves managing all aspects of IBA cash allocation, reconciliations, and reporting, while supporting the finance function through effective communication, analysis, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced financial environment.


Main Responsibilities

Match all cash received as soon as possible. Carry out the premium / paid bordereau process each month and post income to accounting system. Carry out IBA debtors / creditors reconciliations. Complete all processes accurately and on time. Maintain accounting ledgers in an up-to-date and accurate manner. Produce accurate and timely management information (regular and ad hoc). Liaise regularly with other departments to resolve outstanding queries, particularly reporting related issues. Carry out bank reconciliations of insurer and company cash. Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and accessible records. Monitor payments to insurers. Assist the Financial Controller with ad hoc tasks, duties, and projects.

Knowledge Required



Strong knowledge of FCA rules and guidelines relating to commercial and private customers. Good knowledge of general insurance and underlying legal principles. Familiarity with banking methods and accounting principles. Minimum 2 years' experience in the insurance sector.

Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external clients. Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively. Confident and effective telephone communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong written communication skills tailored to business needs. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data input. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
