Are you an experienced ICA Engineer looking to make an impact on one of the UK's most significant water infrastructure projects? Join our team and play a key role in delivering complex instrumentation, control, and automation systems for a landmark development in Walthamstow, East London.

Design & Pre-Construction SupportReview ICA designs for compliance with WIMES, Thames Water standards, and project requirements. Provide constructability input to optimise design for safe installation and operation. Prepare detailed scopes of work, work plans, and phasing strategies for ICA packages. Manage material submittals for PLCs, RTUs, panels, instrumentation, and cabling. Review supplier offers and prepare Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE). Assist with BOQs, cost estimates, procurement schedules, and budget verification. Develop inspection and test plans, FAT/IFAT protocols, and method statements. Contribute to commissioning strategy planning and integration with PMS, SCADA, and electrical systems.

Site Construction Supervision & TestingSupervise ICA works on site, ensuring compliance with standards and safety requirements. Coordinate subcontractors and manage installation inspections for panels, cabling, and field devices. Monitor progress, productivity, and quality against programme targets. Conduct toolbox talks, site briefings, and safety inspections. Witness and supervise testing, FAT/IFAT, and pre-commissioning activities. Validate as-built drawings and support commissioning activities with clients and subcontractors.

Required Skills and Competencies
Essential RequirementsDegree, HNC, or HND in Control & Instrumentation or Automation Engineering. ECS Manager Card and full UK driving licence. Minimum 5 years' experience in ICA works within utilities, process, or water sector projects. Hands-on experience with process instrumentation installation and commissioning. Knowledge of WIMES and Thames Water standards. Strong understanding of safety requirements on live utility sites.

DesirableChartered or Incorporated Engineer status (IET/InstMC). CSCS card, SMSTS, First Aid, Confined Space Training. Thames Water Safety Passport and National Water Hygiene Card. Experience with PMS, SCADA, ICS, fibre optic cabling/testing, and cyber security for control systems. Familiarity with major water utility projects and client approval processes.
