The IH Market Insights team is looking for a Competitive Intelligence (CI) Associate Analyst to work closely with Cigna International Health business to enable fact-based decision making.
Our mission is to integrate deep competitive intelligence analysis with strategic marketplace insights to drive competitively superior strategies and decision making across our lines of business.
The Role
The Competitive Intelligence Associate Analyst will help to develop and drive a CI insights agenda to inform and support internal stakeholders and clients across Cigna Healthcare segments, working closely with the broader IH Market Insights team, business functions and Senior Leadership. This role will report to the Competitive Intelligence Lead Analyst and will be responsible for supporting multiple internal clients across global markets.
Overall Responsibilities:
Sourcing and analyzing publicly available market and competitor data including themes such as product and proposition, USPs, and future trends that may impact Cigna Healthcare.
Synthesizing key trends of CI data and implications to the business by supporting in creating compelling regular market reports for our GIH (Global Individual Health), GHB (Global Health Benefits), IGO/NGO business and priority regions.
Support broader CI and Marketing team to respond to ad-hoc requests from across the International Health markets including other business units, product areas and strategic initiatives.
Be co-responsible for insights elements of Consumer Duty project including: collecting and analysing qualitative and quantitative data; liaising with stakeholders across teams to gather materials for testing and clarify requirements; updating and uploading latest documents including testing guidelines to central Iris page and managing vendor to complete elements as required.
Support International Health teams' market expansion strategy with competitive landscape assessments, including competitor, product, distribution, and marketing approaches.
Be co-responsible for the online CI dashboard. This will involve: liaising with key market stakeholders to support in their usage of the dashboard; working closely with the external vendor to ensure they are delivering data in a manageable format to fit business needs; distilling key insights from the data on the dashboard and cascading these across the business via regular alerts and quarterly reports.
Work closely with International Health leadership team, marketing, product, sales, market managers and other teams to gather, analyze and disseminate all relevant information concerning competitors' solutions and strategies, value propositions and go-to-market strategies.
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to monitor competitor activities, new technologies, market expansion and emerging threats and opportunities. Support strategy development through collaboration with business segment leaders and marketing partners on competitive priorities and projects/deliverables.
Employ a mix of conventional data gathering and digital tools to identify competitor activities, developing industry trends, innovations, and disruptions in the business and their impact on Cigna International Health.
Support in developing compelling presentations to share with the leadership team and across Global Employer Health and Global Individual Health businesses.
Lead the development and maintenance of the IH Market Insights online repository of insights & competitive intelligence.
General support across various projects.
Skills should include:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data into actionable storytelling.
Market research experience (2+ years preferable) with a strong track record of effectively working with qualitative and/or quantitative data - experience of working with both qualitative and quantitative data a plus.
Experience in competitive intelligence or strategic analysis roles preferable.
Must exhibit strong desire to learn new areas of business, make an impact, engage with the team and drive business decisions with thoughtful, engaging and influential fact-based presentations.
Ability to build and leverage internal and external relationships.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environment across multiple functions; ability to contribute individually and as part of a team.
Well-organized, data driven and comfortable supporting and managing multiple projects.
Self-directed, goal oriented and personally accountable. The role would be working with managers who are based in the UK and Asia, so would need to be self-driven, able to take initiative and able to work independently to a high degree.
Proficient in both written and spoken English; other European language a plus.
