Location: London / Hybrid

Contract: Full-time or part-time

Salary: 30,000 - 38,000 (pro rata, depending on experience)

Legal Remedy Centre is a community interest organisation providing high-quality, accessible legal advice and representation in immigration, asylum, housing, and family law. We are committed to social justice and empowering vulnerable individuals through clear, compassionate, and effective legal support.

We hold a Legal Aid Agency contract and are expanding our immigration team to meet increasing demand for representation, particularly in asylum and protection cases.

Role Overview:



We are seeking an experienced Immigration Caseworker accredited at IAAS Level 2 (Senior Caseworker) to join our team. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of publicly funded immigration and asylum matters, including preparation and representation before the Home Office and the First-tier Tribunal (IAC).

Key Responsibilities:



o? ?Manage a varied caseload of immigration, asylum, and human rights cases under Legal Aid.

o? ?Conduct client interviews, take detailed statements, and prepare legal submissions.

o? ?Draft witness statements, representations, and appeal bundles.

o? ?Liaise with the Home Office, counsel, experts, and other stakeholders.

o? ?Maintain accurate, compliant case files in line with Legal Aid Agency (LAA) and OISC/SRA regulations.

o? ?Ensure all cases meet quality and audit standards.

o? ?Support Level 1 staff and volunteers with supervision and training (if applicable).

Essential Requirements:



o? ?OISC Level 2 (or higher) OR IAAS Level 2 (Senior Caseworker) accreditation.

o? ?Minimum 1 year's experience running a Legal Aid immigration/asylum caseload.

o? ?Strong understanding of the Legal Aid Agency's merits test, means test, and compliance requirements.

o? ?Excellent drafting, advocacy, and communication skills.

o? ?Commitment to equality, diversity, and access to justice.

Desirable Experience:



o? ?Experience supervising Level 1 staff or volunteers.

o? ?Experience working with survivors of trauma or vulnerable clients.
