Role Overview
This trainee role offers a unique opportunity for those with
Arts and Humanities degrees
- particularly in
Linguistics, Literature, Education, Social Sciences
, or similar fields - to apply their strong communication and organisational skills in a legal-administrative environment.
As a
Trainee Immigration Caseworker
, you will be trained to assist in
Sponsor Licence applications
,
Skilled Worker visa cases
, and wider immigration support services. This is a client-facing and document-intensive role, ideal for individuals who are meticulous, articulate, and eager to grow into a professional immigration adviser.
Key Responsibilities (with training and supervision):
Assist in the preparation and submission of
Sponsor Licence applications
for UK employers, including document collation, compliance checks, and drafting covering letters.
Support the full lifecycle of
Skilled Worker visa cases
, including Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS) assignments, applicant communications, and compliance file organisation.
Review and organise supporting evidence according to Home Office guidance.
Maintain accurate case files and timelines using internal systems.
Liaise with clients to explain requirements, gather documents, and clarify timelines.
Conduct research on UKVI guidance updates related to sponsorship and immigration routes.
Support senior caseworkers with general case administration across other categories (e.g. student, spouse, visitor, ILR, naturalisation).
Who We're Looking For
Essential:
A Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, English, Education, Literature, Law, or related Humanities discipline.
Excellent written English and ability to explain complex processes in plain language.
High attention to detail and confidence in handling paperwork and compliance checklists.
Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
Comfortable with digital file handling, Office tools, and internal databases.
Interest in UK immigration policy, public service, or international mobility.
Desirable:
Experience with writing-intensive, editing, teaching, or documentation-heavy roles.
Fluency in another language (Mandarin, Arabic, Urdu, Farsi, etc.).
Understanding of employer sponsorship or HR compliance (even from academic research or previous admin roles).
