Job Title: Immunoassay Scientist (ELISA Assay Development) - GCP - Global Contract Research Organisation

A leading Contract Research Organization (CRO) based in Manchester and specializing in providing high-quality scientific services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences companies worldwide is currently looking for experienced and driven clinical Immunoassay scientists to join their team. The skilled Immunoassay Scientist will need expertise in developing bespoke ELISA assays for clients.

Position Overview: As an Immunoassay Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in our Analytical Services department, focusing on the development and optimization of custom ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) assays.

Your in-depth knowledge of immunoassay techniques, strong problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail will contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality, tailored solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients and project teams to understand specific assay requirements and develop custom ELISA assays accordingly.
  • Design and optimize immunoassay protocols, including antibody selection, assay development, and validation.
  • Perform experimental work, including sample preparation, assay optimization, and data analysis.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions to ensure assay robustness and accuracy.
  • Evaluate and validate assay performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and client specifications.
  • Generate comprehensive reports documenting assay development, validation, and performance characteristics.
  • Stay up to date with scientific advancements and emerging technologies in the field of immunoassay development.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Immunology, Biochemistry, or a related field with a focus on immunoassay development. (Advantageous)
  • Proven experience in developing custom ELISA assays, preferably in a CRO / pharmaceutical / clinical industry setting. (Essential)
  • Proficiency in immunoassay techniques, including antibody selection and assay optimisation. (Essential)
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (GLP/GMP/GCP) and quality control standards. (essential)
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis software and data management tools. (Advantageous)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical challenges. (Essential)
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams and clients. (essential)
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. (Essential)
