We are seeking an experienced public health professional with a strong track record in intelligence, epidemiology, and research to lead and shape our new dynamic team within the Public Health and Communities Directorate. This is a pivotal role, driving research and data-led transformation to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for our residents.
About the Role
As Impact and Intelligence Service Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for public health intelligence and research. You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of analysts and research staff. Working closely with Public Health & Communities Directorate Management team and the Business Intelligence team, you'll ensure that robust data insights and epidemiological analysis underpin service delivery, policy development, and strategic transformation to help us make evidenced-based decisions across the Council, NHS, and partner organisations to drive health and wellbeing outcomes across the system.
Essential Experience
Demonstrable experience in leading public health intelligence within a local government or public sector setting.
Strong innovation and creative approaches to support research and evaluation across the council and align with partnership objectives.
Proven ability to work across diverse datasets, systems, and processes to inform decision-making and develop evidence-based approaches.
Effective communication skills and in-depth knowledge of public health intelligence within a local authority context.
Understanding of organisational cultures, structures, and policies across the wider public sector.
