Contract Type: 12 Months Fixed Term Contract


Hours: Full Time, 36 per week


Salary: 16.00 Per Hour

Role summary




Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role of the Import/Export Freight Co-ordinator is to ensure the correct and smooth outward movement of goods and services to customers. Key aspects of this include (but are not limited to); all aspects of raw material movement and control, receipt and preparation of goods for dispatch, control of subcontracted materials and goods, issuing kits into production and control of consumables used for the packaging of goods. Duties also include the training of others where appropriate and maintaining skills through training where the business requires this.

Essential qualifications and skills



Control paperwork relevant to deliveries in and dispatches out of the business, ensuring accuracy of licenses and other stipulated administrative requirements are correctly in place Packing goods to both internal and external packing requirements Issuing of work stock parts to the production areas and other associated areas as required Ensure all transactions are completed correctly using the internal MRP systems (E.g. Syspro) Carry out regular and accurate stock checks in accordance with company requirements Ensure goods are dispatched to customers (and others) on time, liaising with customers as needed, to advise them of delivery schedules and other necessary information Where relevant, ensure documentation is accurately maintained in relation to stock movements, so that stock holding information is always accurate Loading and unloading of vehicles as necessary Maintain house- keeping to a high standard, eliminating FOD and in line with best practise, quality standards and adhering to Health & Safety requirements Adherence to relevant Health & Safety requirements including PPE regulations

Advantageous skills and experience



Self- motivated and able to work unsupervised with the ability to prioritise own workload according to changing business needs Able to demonstrate conformance to procedures Able to demonstrate high levels of accuracy of work relating to documentation and recording keeping assisting with accounting requirements Ability to interface and communicate well with customers, peers and production managers Demonstrable knowledge of export license requirements within the business and the ability to make appropriate decisions in line with these requirements Ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure Ability to physically lift and carry goods on a regular (daily) basis using the correct manual handling techniques and / or lifting equipment as necessary

Other considerations




The role requires a significant amount of lifting and physical activity on a daily basis, together with daily use of VDU's and use of equipment such as ladders.
