Our Imports & Inventory Administrator is responsible for the delivery of exceptional import solutions and administration within the Supply Chain team, achieved by demonstrating excellent communication and organisational skills, attention to detail and schedule planning. This role oversees inventory management and inbound containers between all company stock locations and reviewing custom entries for all company declarations to confirm accurately.

This is a full-time permanent position, covering 37.5 hours over a Monday to Friday week, based out of CareCo's Braintree site.

What are my responsibilities?



To be the main point of contact for all import and logistic service providers such as freight forwarders and transport, ensuring they're clear who is responsible for deliveries to and from CareCo premises. Reviewing company customs declarations are entered correctly, following the UK government's tariff code guidelines and duty rates. Ensure any administrative issues are identified and provide solutions to rectify them to the Supply Chain Manager. Use internal customer or supplier feedback and reports to assist the Supply Chain team to consider the logistical requirements of the business when making decisions. Carry out analysis to ensure stock at each company location is optimised to the most efficient level, resulting in all warehouse locations with sufficient stock but avoiding excess. Ensure the door is open to all approaching freight forwarders and logistic service providers, opportunities are identified and provide recommendations to Supply Chain Manager. Develop your ongoing awareness of industry activity and supply chain market conditions. Communicate new or updated procedures relating to the import or logistic functions within the Supply Chain team to colleagues and suppliers where applicable.

What qualifications & skills are required of me?



GCSE in English & Mathematics. 1-year previous experience working within the freight industry for either a business or freight forwarder. A basic understanding of Commodity Codes. Ability to demonstrate the ability to plan shipment schedules and book space accordingly, utilising excellent organisational skills with an emphasis on time management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Competent with Microsoft 365 software, specifically Word and Excel (basic skills such as Pivot Tables and Lookup Formulas would be desirable).
