Role Purpose:



The In Work Support Senior leads and develops a team of In Work Support Specialists, ensuring each colleague manages a caseload of up to 20 employed clients who require additional, tailored support to sustain and progress in their roles. The post holder sets and assures high-quality, person?centred practice, championing independence throughout the client journey and aligning delivery with our established quality standards and frameworks. They provide day?to?day line management, coaching and field mentoring, oversee case allocation and risk management, and drive continuous improvement through structured quality assurance. The role maintains strong, solution?focused relationships with clients and employers, promotes fair and inclusive workplace adjustments, and ensures robust performance oversight through accurate, timely case recording and use of the Eclipse system.

Responsibilities:



Project Management:



Collaborate with the Contracts Manager to plan and prioritise activities that meet departmental objectives, contractual requirements, and business goals. Lead on Access to Work (ATW) claims, ensuring accurate applications and compliance with DWP guidelines to maximise funding. Stay informed on ATW policy changes and implement operational solutions in partnership with ATW staff. Organise and manage client handovers from related projects (e.g., Supported Internships, Supported Employment) to ensure seamless service continuity. Represent the service at conferences and meetings to promote In Work Support and strengthen external partnerships. Embed the In Work Support (IWS) Quality Framework, ensuring quality standards are upheld across all service delivery. Complete regular self-assessment audits, using feedback to steer continuous quality improvement. Support the team to build a supportive workplace environment, providing operational guidance and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Use Power BI dashboards to monitor performance metrics and carry out dip checks on the Eclipse CRM system to maintain data accuracy and compliance.

Staff Management:



Provide day-to-day line management for In Work Support Specialists, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities within the team. Deliver regular supervision (every 4-6 weeks) to maintain high-quality practice and professional development. Complete monthly field mentoring with staff to ensure the quality of support meets organisational standards and provide constructive guidance to improve practice. Monitor caseload sizes (maximum 20 per Specialist) to uphold service quality and client outcomes. Foster a collaborative team culture that supports problem-solving and peer learning for complex client situations. Ensure all staff complete required training (e.g., Systematic Instruction) and maintain compliance with organisational standards. Ensure the team are informed regarding performance, sharing updates and insights to maintain transparency and accountability. Set strategic objectives for staff aligned with organisational goals and complete annual appraisals to review progress and development needs. Identify performance issues promptly, managing and addressing concerns through coaching, support plans, and formal processes where necessary. Lead on recruitment and retention of In Work Support Specialists, ensuring effective onboarding and supporting staff through their induction process. Chair weekly team meetings with your direct team to review progress, share updates, and address operational issues. Contribute to wider monthly and quarterly meetings with the broader IWS team and Pure Employment to align on strategy and share best practice.

Other:



Champion independence for all clients by embedding person-centred approaches and promoting workplace adjustments where needed. Ensure safeguarding is a core part of service delivery by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding policies, completing required training, and promoting best practice across the team. Act promptly to report and manage safeguarding concerns in line with organisational procedures. Maintain accurate and timely case recording using systems such as Eclipse, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Create and deliver training sessions to staff to enhance service quality and consistency. Actively contribute as part of the Pure Employment management team, participating in project work to improve services and collaborating with other employment teams. Support continuous improvement by contributing to quality assurance processes and service evaluations. Represent the organisation at local and national events, sharing best practice and promoting inclusive employment. Travel across Greater Manchester is a requirement of the role, as clients are located across the region. The post holder must be comfortable driving and willing to work across multiple sites. Undertake any other duties as required by the Contracts Manager to meet organisational and contractual needs.
