A look into the role
As an I&D Assistant Manager you will:Be part of a small team responsible for providing support for the delivery of the I&D characteristic focus action plans for social mobility, disability and LGBTQIA+, and partnering with the business to support our collective aim of reaching our targets and improving belonging for all
Support the team in delivering on the action plan priorities for the year and support the I&D Manager with internal I&D projects that will support your characteristic action plans
Work as a dedicated relationship manager into a specific area of the business to assist with and support their I&D strategic goals and aims, using data to understand issues at a deep level and influencing change using deep expertise and a collaborative style
Work closely with people and culture team members to support their actions and bring subject matter expertise to the employee experience in things like policy, training and performance management
Be a subject matter expert on specific change projects that will drive growth and high performance in the business
Work is varied and interesting including collecting and analysing I&D data and employee engagement pulse results to understand the impact of actions and where the action plan needs to focus
Project manage reporting/audit/index requirements, coordinating input from relevant stakeholders in order to produce reports which meet external and internal requirements
Monitor progress against project plans and ensure delivery within stated timeframes in order to meet the goals
Support engagement and belonging by organising conferences and events (internal and external) presenting to your Board sponsor, engaging with third parties and benchmarked indexes, and helping other parts of Grant Thornton UK to understand what our strategy is and what we are doing to change
In addition, you will support the delivery of upskilling programmes for people managers and other populations in your dedicated business area
Work collaboratively across the ESG team, People Business Partners, People Services and People Advisory teams to build and continuously improve inclusion and diversity within the Grant Thornton people experience.
Engage sensitively and in line with our values with people from protected characteristics
Work with network leads and the I&D Boards to ensure the action plan is aligned to barriers and needs

Good people technology and systems knowledge with a curiosity and mindset to learn and expand knowledge of AI and new technologies
Ability to juggle and manage multiple projects, ahead of time and to a high standard
Strong insight and analytical skills to interpret data and make people and commercial based decisions
Collaborative style and someone who pulls together as a team to enable I&D actions to happen
Building positive and proactive relationships, influencing and partnering approach to service delivery
Flexible approach to changing work requirements
Attention to detail and passion for accuracy
Strong IT skills including proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
People orientated, able to build rapport and trusting relationships quickly
