About The Role

We are looking for an Income Officer to join our Housing Income Team on a Permanent contract to deliver a supportive service approach to sustaining homes of its residents for over 5700 Council homes and 370 Leaseholders across the Borough of Great Yarmouth.

As an Income Officers you are the first point of contact with our tenants delivering high standards of customer service. If you are self-motivated, have experience in communicating with customers, have a strong customer focus and are passionate about making a difference to people's lives, this opportunity is for you we would really like to hear from you.

The team is a busy customer facing service responsible for setting up and managing rent accounts, service charges, sundry debts and garage accounts. Maximising income collection across the housing service. The delivery of the Service charge billing and income collection in relation to the Council's leaseholders. The team is also responsible for the co-ordination of Right to Buy applications to meet statutory deadlines.

It is a requirement of the role to have a driving licence and access to your own transport.

About You



The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have the following skills, knowledge, and work experience:

Experience of effectively using IT systems such as word, excel, outlook in order to prepare and maintain case records, communicate in writing at all levels and analyse written and numerical information. And the processing of complex information. A minimum of 12 months experience of working in a demanding customer service environment. Background in Housing Management - public sector housing, or private sector managing accounts and income collection at all levels of enforcement and arrears management. Experience of accountancy, providing excellent customer service and ability to relate and deal directly with all residents and those vulnerable. With the ability to take complex information and translate into clear information with advice and guidance. Experience of working on own initiative, following procedures, assessing situations, and making decisions. And experience of managing a caseload. A proven ability to multi-skill with experience of working in an office environment and lone working in residents' homes. Being performance driven to meet targets and deadlines in advance.
