Do you believe in social justice and equality? Are you someone who wants to make a difference in your community? Then this may be the job for you.
Advocacy North East (ANE) is an independent, charitable organisation that enables people affected by mental illness or disability, those with problematic substance use and carers to understand their rights, access information, make informed choices and have a voice in matters relating to their health, care and treatment.
If you share our values, have a professional attitude, are highly motivated, positive and flexible then you may be the person we are looking for to join our team in delivering independent advocacy to people throughout Aberdeenshire and further afield, whether at home, in a specialist unit or in a hospital setting.
We welcome applications from all sectors of our community as we seek to fill this position which, although based at our rural office near Inverurie, will require extensive travel both locally and beyond to meet the needs of those receiving our support.
Applicants should have demonstrable experience of working alongside people who can be marginalised due to challenging health, social and environmental factors that make them vulnerable, and have a broad understanding of the issues and barriers that they may face. Knowledge of mental health legislation and social policy as it impacts on these individuals would be desirable.
We are looking for candidates who have excellent communication, organisational and time management skills, are IT literate and can work independently with minimum supervision.
A valid driving licence and use of a vehicle is a requirement.
This post is deemed to be a Regulated Role with Vulnerable Adults and Children and therefore recruitment is subject to satisfactory PVG Scheme Membership and references.
Closing date for completed applications is 10.00am on Wednesday 24th September 2025
