- Keep clients updated on technical developments, sector wide issues and relevant changes in HMRC's guidance and policy.

- Support the VAT team's growth by identifying new advisory opportunities with existing clients and sector networking.

- Contribute to the development of thought leadership pieces, client seminars, and training sessions to strengthen the firm's reputation in the regional market.

- Collaborate closely with colleagues across tax, audit, and corporate finance teams to provide a seamless, joined-up service.

- Help shape and embed best practices in VAT compliance, reporting, and advisory processes within the firm.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of VAT legislation, case law, and HMRC practice and policy, applying it appropriately across a diverse client base.

- Assist in the preparation and review of technical reports, briefings, and internal updates for the VAT team and wider firm.

- Undertake technical research to resolve complex VAT queries and support senior staff on significant advisory projects.

- Ensure all work meets the firm's quality, risk management, and professional standards.

Key Requirements

- 3-5 years' experience in VAT, ideally gained within a professional services, consultancy, or in-house advisory setting and with strong education, public sector and/or not for profit involvement.
