The Role

Vuly is searching for an elite Industrial Designer Director to lead the setup of our UK Industrial Design studio. Globally, this role is supported by an Australian Industrial design department(10 people), and a similarly sized Mechanical and Product development team stretched across Malaysia and China. Vuly Play believes that London has the highest talent concentration of great Industrial designers and we intend to tap into that. The London design studio will be tasked with Vuly's most complex and company defining projects that require a level of experience and talent that we are unable to find elsewhere.

The successful candidate will hire and build a team of 2 Senior Industrial designers, upon completion of successful products, we intend to continue to grow the team originally, as we have in our locations.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be required to:

Organise and manage a team of Industrial Designers and their various tasks in line the overall direction provided from HQ. Solve the company's most difficult and complex product projects. Take clear direction from the management team with regard to Vuly design language and the directions to pursue, to be able to stay within vocal or brief direction parameters. Develop designs into realistic and superior products - from idea to market Order and commissioning of new injection moulds and machines as required Contribute to, and achieve, Vuly strategic objectives - via a committed, proactive and results-driven effort

Requirements and experience:

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or Product Design Experience in putting design ideas and concepts into real life mass production Experience with plastics and production is highly desirable 10+ years of post-graduate, professional design experience Have a strong sense of design and art and an appreciation for the Braun style of design. Be efficient and productive in output in their own right. Have a very high level of Industrial Design skill and experience Ability to guide a team through performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, coach and support their overall needs Be a committed, consistent, reliable leader who shows up for their team and keeps projects on track Be willing to work within tight timelines and challenging processes

Pay: 100,000.00-140,000.00 per year
