We are seeking a skilled Industrial Door Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial doors and related systems. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, along with hands-on experience in fabrication and construction. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in working with various materials and tools to ensure the functionality and safety of industrial door systems.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair a variety of industrial doors, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Fabricate components as needed for door systems, utilising both hand tools and power tools.
Read and interpret schematics to understand installation requirements and specifications.
Conduct masonry work as necessary to support door installations.
Ensure that all installations are plumb and level, adhering to industry best practices.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on existing door systems to identify potential issues.
Collaborate with other tradespeople including carpenters and electricians to complete projects efficiently.
Execute painting tasks as required to finish installations or repairs.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are stored properly.
Skills
Proficient in the use of power tools and hand tools relevant to fabrication and construction tasks.
Strong understanding of electrical systems as they relate to industrial doors.
Ability to read and interpret technical schematics accurately.
Experience in masonry work is an advantage.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
Capability to work independently as well as part of a team in various environments.
