Fitter's Mate - Industrial Door Installation, Repair & Maintenance
Job Role
We are looking for a reliable and motivated
Fitter's Mate
to support our Industrial Door Engineers with the installation, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of products, including Roller Shutters, Sectional Overhead Doors, Fire Rated Shutters, Loading Bays, Gates, Barriers, Automatic Doors, and Steel Hinged Doors.
This role involves regional work across
Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham
, with occasional travel further afield.. You will assist engineers on-site while upholding high standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Support lead engineers with installation, servicing, and repairs of industrial doors, gates, barriers, and dock levellers.
Prepare tools, materials, and equipment required for each job.
Assist with site surveys, measurements, and job checks.
Maintain tidy van stocks and ensure tools are organised and ready for use.
Follow all Health & Safety guidelines, including safe manual handling and working at height.
Complete basic paperwork or digital updates as required by the engineer.
Promote a positive company image while working on customer sites.
Skills, Education & Experience
A minimum of 6 months' experience
as an Industrial Fitter's Mate, Site Labourer, or Engineering Mate.
Good understanding of working on construction or engineering sites.
Full UK driving licence (preferred).
CSCS card and any relevant certificates such as PASMA, IPAF, Working at Height, Manual Handling, or Asbestos Awareness (advantageous).
Willingness to undertake product and safety training.

Comfortable travelling across multiple regions.
