Industrial Placement Civil or Process Engineer
for our
Water
team to be based in
Leeds
, from Autumn 2025 - Autumn 2026.
To support future growth across our Early Careers Team, we have an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Placement Student to join our Water team based in Leeds. This will be an office-based placement for a period of up to 12 months. We are ideally seeking a student working towards a degree in Civil Engineering.
In Leeds, we're particularly excited to be part of Yorkshire Water's Storm Overflow Alliance for their AMP8 capital investment program, where we'll provide both outline and detailed designs to reduce combined sewer overflow spills. We'll also continue our role as Yorkshire Water's Strategic Planning Partner throughout AMP8, offering outline design and strategic consultancy for a wide array of Clean/Waste Infrastructure and Non-Infrastructure projects. This ongoing partnership allows us to create innovative, cutting-edge designs that address complex water industry challenges, focusing on carbon reduction, sustainability, and community service.
As an Industrial Placement student working with Stantec you will be assisting our Water team in the design and delivery of key projects across public sector frameworks and your duties will include the following:
Supporting the production of technical reports, cost estimates, contract documentation and contract management for a variety of water and wastewater projects
Work closely with the technician resource in the delivery of outputs to agreed deadlines
Liaise with the design teams on active projects and to manage and procure deliverables on time
Accompany Senior Engineers on site visits and inspections

About you:
To join us for a placement year, you will ideally be enrolled on an MEng or BEng course in Civil or Chemical Engineering or a related subject and have an interest in the Water sector. You will also be:

Please note, the successful candidate would need to come into the office 4 days per week to ensure that they receive sufficient time with your team and receive the appropriate level of support.
