We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic undergraduate to join our Highways / Transport infrastructure design team for a 12-month industrial placement as part of their degree programme. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical design experience within a professional civil engineering consultancy, contributing to the delivery of real-world highway and transportation projects.
About the Role
As a Highways Design Industrial Placement Student, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting the planning and design of highway and transportation infrastructure. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will contribute to the development of designs across various project stages, from feasibility and preliminary design through to detailed design and construction support.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting with the design of highway schemes, junction layouts, and road alignments
Supporting the production of drawings using CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, Civil 3D)
Assisting with drainage design, earthworks, and pavement design calculations
Supporting design checks and compliance with relevant standards (e.g. DMRB, Manual for Streets)
Preparing technical reports, drawings, and design documentation
Collaborating with other disciplines, clients, and stakeholders
What We're Looking For
