The Job Mission



This is a hybrid role, but we can only consider candidates within commuting distance of Bridgwater--or those open to relocating, in which case a modest relocation allowance will be provided.

You'll support Commissioning and Operations (CommOps) activities on one of the UK's most complex infrastructure programmes. Your future team will look to you for safety expertise across both site operations and office-based planning.

Key responsibilities will include:

Delivering practical health and safety advice across all CommOps work streams Supporting commissioning and construction safety from preparation through to execution Reviewing risk assessments and method statements for technical accuracy and clarity Driving a positive safety culture across project teams and contractors Monitoring compliance with UK health and safety regulations and internal policies Leading inspections and audits, and tracking follow-up actions Building collaborative relationships across delivery and contractor organisations Creating performance reports with trend insights and recommended mitigations Providing assurance and technical guidance during incident investigations Identifying hazards and recommending robust mitigations through existing safety frameworks

Qualifications



Essential Skills and Qualifications



NEBOSH General Certificate (Level 3) or equivalent, with 2+ years post-qualification experience Strong understanding of UK health and safety requirements and legislation Experience with inspections, audits, and on-site safety reviews Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new tools quickly Capable of producing detailed, accurate, and high-impact safety reports Adaptable and collaborative in large, fast-paced project teams

Desired Skills



NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification Background in both commissioning and construction environments Awareness of CDM Regulations and their practical application Experience with safety risks specific to nuclear construction and commissioning Knowledge of health and safety systems in large-scale project environments Understanding of hazard identification and mitigation in complex sites
