Reporting to the Head of Operations, The Industrial Cleaning Services Manager will oversee the effective and efficient management of Bidvest Noonan Industrial Cleaning Operations, including window cleaning, gutter cleaning, deep cleans, sparkle cleans, and other specialised cleaning tasks.
The role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a commitment to ensuring safety, quality, and compliance in all cleaning activities. The Industrial Services Manager will work closely with teams on-site, ensuring projects are completed to high standards and within set timeframes. This role will involve a hands on approach to ensure Right First Time (RFT) ethos.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Management
Plan and Coordinate
: Oversee weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules, ensuring all operations, including window cleaning, gutter cleaning, deep cleans, and sparkle cleans, are performed on time.
Project Management
: Manage multiple industrial cleaning projects simultaneously, ensuring client requirements are met and all projects are delivered within scope and budget.
Resource Allocation
: Ensure that adequate staff and resources (equipment, tools, cleaning products) are available for all cleaning tasks.
Quality Control
: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure cleaning work is completed to the highest standards, addressing any deficiencies promptly.
Efficiency Optimization
: Identify areas for improving efficiency in cleaning processes and suggest and implement improvements.
2. Health and Safety Compliance
Safety Leadership
: Promote and enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations, especially regarding working at heights, use of chemicals, and operation of specialized equipment (e.g., MEWPs for window cleaning).
Risk Assessments
: Carry out regular risk assessments for all cleaning operations, ensuring hazards are identified and mitigated.
Staff Training
: Ensure all staff are trained in safe work practices, including safe operation of cleaning equipment (e.g., pressure washers, MEWPs, harnesses), chemical handling, and working at heights.
3. Staff Management
Team Leadership
: Supervise, motivate, and develop a team of cleaning operatives, ensuring productivity and morale remain high.
Staff Scheduling
: ensure work scheduling is created in advance and that the right number of staff are available for all cleaning tasks.
Recruitment and Development
: Support the recruitment, onboarding, and continuous professional development of cleaning staff, ensuring they meet company standards.
Performance Management
: Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and manage disciplinary issues if required.
4. Client Relationship Management
Client Communication
: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring excellent communication and understanding of their requirements for cleaning operations.
Problem-Solving
: Address client concerns, resolve issues efficiently, and ensure client satisfaction with the quality of work.
Reporting
: Provide detailed reports to clients and management regarding the progress of projects, including any incidents, challenges, and resolutions.
5. Financial Management
Budget Oversight
: Manage budgets for cleaning operations, including labour costs, materials, and equipment usage, ensuring profitability.
Quoting and Invoicing
: Prepare accurate quotes for new projects and submit invoices upon project completion.
Cost Efficiency
: Ensure cost-effective use of materials and staffing to maintain project profitability without compromising quality.
6. Equipment and Materials Management
Maintenance
: Ensure all equipment (e.g., reach and wash systems, pressure washers, gutter cleaning tools, and MEWPs) and vehicles are well-maintained and regularly inspected.
Inventory Control
: Manage stock levels of cleaning materials, chemicals, and PPE, ensuring there is adequate supply without overstocking.
Work Conditions
Travel
: Regular travel between job sites within the designated region.
Physical Demands
: Occasional manual handling and working at heights may be required.
Hours
: Flexibility in working hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, depending on project requirements.

Qualifications & Skills required
Full clean driving licence
Experience
: Minimum of 3-5 years in a management or supervisory role within the cleaning Industry, with a focus on quoting for and managing specialised cleaning tasks (window cleaning, gutter cleaning, deep cleans, sparkle cleans etc).
Health & Safety Knowledge
: Extensive knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), risk assessments, and working at heights.
Industry-Specific Training
: Additional certifications in industrial cleaning (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH General Certificate) are advantageous.
IT Skills
: Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications and project management software for reporting and scheduling.
Leadership and Team Management
: Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing teams in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
Project Management
: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing deadlines, budget, and quality requirements.

: Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage client relationships and resolve issues efficiently.
