Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Sewing Machinist to join our small production team in our established cushion business. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various industrial sewing machines and equipment, along with a strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. This role is essential for ensuring that our manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Duties

Operate and maintain a variety of sewing machines and tools, including lockstitch machines, and overlockers. Interpret production sheets orders and specifications, and follow any related instructions. Perform regular inspections and cleaning of sewing machines to ensure optimal performance and safety. Collaborate with team members to complete the daily work as a part of a production team. Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations. Assist in the training of new staff on sewing machine processes and equipment usage.

Requirements

Previous experience as an industrial Sewing Machinist is a preferred; however full training will be provided for enthusiast trainees or home sewers. Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines and tools, with and understanding of their functions. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in all tasks performed. Good hand-eye coordination and concentration skills.
