Role: Information, Advice and Guidance Officer

Cause: Charity

Salary/rate: \xc2\xa312.31 - \xc2\xa313.31 per hour

Working arrangements: Hybrid

Employment Type: Temporary Ongoing

Working hours: Full Time 37.5 hours

What You\'ll Do

  • Assist carers with information, advice, and guidance on topics like rights, benefits, emotional support, and local services.
  • Provide advice via phone, email, written queries, text messages, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Welcome new carers, determine their needs, and connect them with support.
  • Facilitate monthly carer support groups and coffee mornings.
  • Assist with specialist support groups for carers of those with mental health conditions, dementia, and disabilities.
  • Support carer involvement in forums.
  • Organise carer participation through events and newsletters.
  • Conduct outreach to raise awareness of carers and the Carers Network.
  • Build relationships with organisations, especially in Local Authorities and primary care.
  • Contribute to developing policies that meet carers\' needs.
  • Manage administrative tasks efficiently, maintaining accurate records online.
  • Register new carers and update records promptly.
  • Contribute to reports for management and funding bodies.
  • Collaborate with the team to contribute ideas for service improvement.
  • Lead specific areas relevant to carers, collecting information and liaising with local services.
  • Attend regular meetings and training for professional development.
  • Actively contribute to the development of efficient organisational policies and procedures.
The successful candidate:

(Preferably) experience/knowledge in the following areas:
  • Basic Welfare benefit advice (specifically with Attendance Allowance, Personal Independence Payments and Carers Allowance)
  • Knowledge of the care Act 2014
  • Experience with completing referrals
  • Experience in providing information and advice
  • Basic Housing advice
