About the role

Are you a passionate, experienced leader ready to shape a brand-new service that will have a lasting impact on families, children, and young people? We're launching an exciting new Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) team and we're looking for a dynamic IAG Manager to lead the way.


This is more than a role, it's an opportunity to build something from the ground up. You'll be at the forefront of a forward-thinking team, driving how we deliver our Family Information Service (FIS), Local Offer, and the Family Hubs Digital Front Door, including the vital Best Start for Life content.


The Family Information Service (FIS) is a statutory duty under the Childcare Act 2006, while the Local Offer is mandated by the Children and Families Act 2014. Together, they support families and young people (0-25), particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), by connecting them with education, health, care, and community services. As our IAG Manager, you'll ensure this critical support is accessible, up-to-date, and easy to navigate.




What will you be doing?

As our Information, Advice & Guidance Manager, you'll take the lead on delivering and developing high-quality, accessible information services for families across North Northamptonshire. Your key responsibilities will include:

Managing and maintaining

the Family Information Service (FIS) and Local Offer (LO) databases, keeping all digital content accurate, relevant, and up to date.

Maximising digital channels

including websites, social media, helpline and online chat to ensure families can easily access the support they need.

Ensuring statutory compliance

with all legal duties under the Childcare Act 2006 and Children and Families Act 2014, working closely with internal teams, external partners, and government agencies.

Running 'test and learn' sessions

to gather user feedback and continuously improve the usability, accessibility and impact of our online platforms.

Leading and line managing

a new team of IAG and FIS Officers, supporting them to deliver excellent service and drive innovation.

Championing service promotion

through both digital and printed materials, ensuring strong visibility in the community.

Adapting to change

and supporting occasional evening or weekend events as part of wider community engagement efforts.



About you

You'll need to be flexible, proactive, and quick-thinking, with the ability to manage your own time and travel across North Northamptonshire when needed. Some evening and weekend work may be required to support the team and attend community events.


We're looking for someone who truly understands the needs of local families and can connect them with the right support. You'll be skilled in sourcing and sharing accurate, accessible information across key areas like health, education, childcare, housing, and more -- helping families make confident, informed decisions.
