Job Description

The Diocese of Guildford is seeking a dedicated Information Officer to oversee the day-to-day management of key data across the Diocese of Guildford in the Church of Englands Contact Management System (CMS). This pivotal role ensures the smooth operation of governance and other essential Church House services.

Background:
The Governance Team supports the Dioceses structures and decision-making with integrity and efficiency, covering areas like synodical governance, elections, and GDPR compliance.
At the core is the Information Officer, who manages diocesan data in the CMS. They ensure accurate records, support CMS use across teams, coordinate elections, and assist with ministerial developmentplaying a key role in maintaining good governance and operational excellence.

What You'll Do:
As an Information Officer, some of your key responsibilities will include:+ Managing diocesan data in the Church of Englands Contact Management System (CMS) + Training and empowering colleagues to use CMS effectively
+ Representing the Diocese in national CMS user groups
+ Coordinating governance processes including the planning and delivery of Diocesan elections
+ Assisting with the administration of Ministerial Development Reviews, Extended Ministerial Development Leave, and Continuing Ministerial Development.

Qualifications and Experience:+ Strong administrative background + Highly skilled in Microsoft 365 packages, especially Excel, Word and Outlook
+ Experience of using and administering database software
+ GDPR knowledge and understanding
+ Ability to pro-actively manage and prioritise activities
+ Competent in the use of technology with the ability to learn new systems quickly
+ Proven experience of managing confidential information with discretion, professionalism and sensitivity.
