Conwy's IT&DT Department is looking for an enthusiastic, committed individual to join their IT Systems and Support Division as an IT Officer within the IT Social Care, Education School Support Team. Duties will include installing and maintaining personal computers, peripherals, iPads, mobile devices and printers. Duties will also include troubleshooting and resolving IT issues reported by users, developing innovative new solutions that meet our users' requirements, and developing expertise in agreed systems based and technical fields. Experience with supporting technical solutions in Social Care and Education and / or implementation of Social Care and Education Technology projects would be advantageous.
In addition to the above, the successful candidate will have opportunities to support client service line of business systems and be involved in driving digital transformation initiatives within the organisation. This includes leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency, improve user experience, and contribute to the overall digital strategy of the Authority.
This position will require the successful candidate to demonstrate initiative, a flair for innovation, and the ability to understand and learn technical concepts. The Authority utilises a wide array of technologies including MS 365 and Azure Active Directory, Citrix, VMWare, MS SQL, MS Exchange, SAN, all installed into an integrated Enterprise scale infrastructure. The IT department works to ITIL and Prince2 Project Management standards.
The duties of this post will require excellent soft skills due to frequent contact with computer users at all levels of the organisation. Applicants should have a good standard of Education preferably to HND, degree level or equivalent in an IT or related subject. IT technical support and / or IT system support experience and a passion for supporting IT in a customer oriented environment is essential. Candidates should also possess a high level of organisational and project management skills with a willingness to attend both technical and personal development Training to achieve appropriate professional qualifications. The post involves travel to other sites within the Authority. Good communication skills in written and spoken English are essential. The ability to speak and write in Welsh is desirable in assisting the Department to provide a bilingual service to clients.
