Job Description

Wates Group are looking for an experienced 3rd line Infrastructure Engineer to join the Cloud Services team. This is an all-rounder role where you will be supporting, implementing and maintaining a wide range of technologies with a focus on the Microsoft Cloud. This role is primary project based with around 80% of your time being dedicated to project work and 20% being dedicated to reactive support. This role offers a huge opportunity for someone who is an experienced 3rd line Infrastructure or Cloud engineer to work with cutting edge cloud technologies in a large-scale environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To be successful in the role you will already have experience and relevant qualifications in the same or a similar role which makes use of a similar technology stack. You should be able to demonstrate your knowledge of these areas as well as having a firm understanding of deployments, ongoing management and support of these technologies. You must also be able to work both independently and as part of a wider team as requirements dictate.



As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will:

Have existing knowledge of Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, Autopilot, SQL, Networking, virtualisation, Windows Server and PowerShell. Have demonstratable experience in larger scale environments (1000+ users). Knowledge of device deployment technology (e.g. SCCM) beneficial. Knowledge of IT Security and compliance beneficial. Excellent written and verbal skills. Lead role in managing suppliers and ensuring that we get the best value and performance with them. Ability to listen, question and explain non-technical information so it is understood. Ensure that all work is delivered to a high standard with relevant documentation and communication. Have a desire to learn and adopt new technologies and ways of working.
