Infrastructure Projects & Energy Finance Associate (1+ PQE)
Location: Manchester
The Role
We are recruiting an Infrastructure Projects & Energy Finance Associate (1+ PQE) to join a growing Infrastructure, Projects & Energy team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex projects across energy, transport, utilities, and social infrastructure-while gaining high-quality exposure, client contact, and clear career progression.
About the Team
The team advises a broad range of clients across the public and private sectors, including:
Developers, investors and funders
Energy and utility providers
Transport and infrastructure operators
Government departments and public sector bodies
The practice handles innovative, high-value mandates, including major energy transition projects, social infrastructure schemes, regulated utilities, and large-scale development programmes.
What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:

  • Advise on commercial contracts, project structures, and financing arrangements across energy, utilities, transport, and infrastructure projects
  • Support clients with procurement strategies, risk allocation, and project execution
  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of project documents, including services agreements, concessions, and operational contracts
  • Collaborate with colleagues across commercial, real estate, finance, regulatory, and corporate teams
  • Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives
  • Take part in structured training and professional development programmes
  • Support and mentor junior colleagues where appropriate
What We're Looking For
  • 1+ years' PQE in infrastructure, projects, energy, or commercial contracts
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial or project-related documentation
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills
  • Commercially minded, with an ability to understand client objectives
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative team player with an interest in mentoring and development
