Infrastructure, Projects & Energy Finance Associate - 1PQE+ | Manchester Top-Tier Team | High-Profile Projects | Career Development Opportunities A leading national law firm is seeking an ambitious Associate (1PQE+) to join their highly regarded Infrastructure, Projects & Energy (IPE) team in Manchester. The team advises a diverse client base across social infrastructure, energy & utilities, and transport, working on both high-profile headline projects and a variety of smaller matters, offering excellent exposure and a supportive environment. About the Team One of the UK's most established multi-disciplinary teams, ranked highly in Legal 500 and Chambers for Water, Transport, Local Government, and Health. Advises funds, developers, asset managers, operators, financial institutions, energy and utility companies, government bodies and NHS Trusts. Expertise across diverse sectors including water, renewable energy, transport, healthcare, education, housing, and social infrastructure. The team operates both nationally and internationally, delivering complex, innovative projects while providing a strong platform for career development. The Role You will: Advise on commercial contracts and a broad range of public/private sector transactions across energy, infrastructure, and transport. Work closely with five partners and the wider Manchester IPE team, as well as colleagues across the UK and international offices. Develop expertise in your chosen areas, with the opportunity to specialise or gain broad experience across sectors. Build and maintain client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and contributing to business development initiatives. Participate in the firm's market-leading Associate Development Programme, with mentorship, regular check-ins, and structured career progression support. Candidate Requirements 1+ PQE in Infrastructure, Projects & Energy or a Commercial Contracts background. Enthusiastic, resilient, and ambitious, with a consultative approach to problem-solving. Strong drafting and legal advisory skills, able to produce clear and effective documents. Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple matters under pressure. Commitment to continuous learning and development, with curiosity about client businesses and drivers.
