In House Counsel - Technology Start Up

Location: London

Fidaris are working with a fast growing technology start up in London who are seeking their first dedicated In House Counsel. This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious business at a pivotal stage of its growth, working closely with the leadership team to establish the legal function and provide strategic guidance across all areas of the company.

The role

As In House Counsel you will be responsible for a broad range of legal matters, combining hands on drafting and negotiation with higher level risk management and strategic advice. You will act as a trusted adviser to the leadership team and help create the legal frameworks needed to support innovation and rapid expansion.

Key responsibilities

Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements including supplier, partnership and customer contracts Advising on corporate governance, compliance and employment law issues Managing intellectual property and data protection matters relevant to the technology sector Supporting fundraising activities and liaising with investors and external advisers Identifying risk areas and providing pragmatic, solutions focused advice Developing internal policies, procedures and training to ensure best practice and compliance

About you

Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with experience gained in private practice and/or an in house environment Strong background in commercial contracts and corporate law, ideally with exposure to technology and IP matters Commercially minded with the ability to balance legal risk against business objectives Excellent communication skills with the confidence to advise senior stakeholders Entrepreneurial approach with the ability to work independently in a fast paced start up environment
