We are delighted to have been instructed, as a sole agency, on a unique in-house role with our client, a public sector organisation based in Edinburgh. The role sits within the organisations Social Security Unit which is part of its Economy and Social Protections Division. The unit is currently recruiting for an interim solicitor to join its busy team on a temporary basis; the post holder will be involved in assisting and reporting to the branch head on appeals and providing legal advice on social security matters.
With an immediate start, this position is a FTC until January 2026; Hybrid working between office and remote is available and there is scope to be flexible in this regard.
To be considered for this role, you should be a qualified solicitor in Scots Law and hold a current practising certificate. The unit is open to level of candidates from NQ upwards with good knowledge of law as it affects government in Scotland; previous experience working in a litigation environment is required, with knowledge of social security law desirable but not essential.
