We're addressing growing consumer and industry demand for more sustainable, circular packaging solutions.
The Role
We are seeking an Innovation Executive to lead and deliver innovation across Packamama - from developing new product formats and materials to supporting scale-up and technical trials. You'll bridge design, materials science, and manufacturing with commercial outcomes to advance the next generation of sustainable wine packaging.
What You'll Do
Drive and deliver high-impact technical projects, including new formats, materials (e.g., biobased or biodegradable), and process upgrades.
Explore emerging materials, novel design aesthetics, and next-gen packaging technologies.
Plan and execute technical trials with manufacturing and supply chain partners.
Analyse product performance data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
Work with commercial teams to integrate innovations into Packamama's sales pipeline.
Research new avenues of potential product development, including collaborating with academia, to bring new solutions to the wine industry.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to maintain a position as being innovators in the wine industry.
Maintain structured, well-documented records from concept to handover to commercial or production.
What You'll Bring
A degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related STEM discipline.
Strong grasp of polymer and packaging material properties - able to assess trade-offs between performance and environmental impact.
Proven analytical skills and a methodical, data-led approach to innovation and problem-solving.
Experience in hands-on product testing, trials, or pilot-scale operations.
Ability to clearly communicate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and strong documentation habits.
Passion for circular economy principles, sustainability, and real-world recyclability.
Nice to Have
Experience in packaging, manufacturing, or product engineering environments.
Familiarity with polymer processing techniques or wine/food contact chemistry.
Exposure to sustainability assessments or life cycle analysis (LCA) frameworks.
