As part of our team of Insight Managers, you'll take full ownership of strategic research projects--from commissioning to delivery--translating data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.. You'll become the Insight team's go-to expert on the needs of MaPS pensions customers and contribute significantly to MaPS' customer "Impact" programme. Job description




The Insight Manager will report directly to Senior Insight Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:





Commissioning robust and high-quality research that brings insight to the organisation's heart Lead on the translation of stakeholder requests into effective research briefs; Effective day to day management and delivery of research projects to time and budget resolving any issues or problems in a timely way, flagging issues where appropriate Management of research agency relationships to deliver high quality projects, including ensuring that research materials (e.g. questionnaires, discussion guides) and deliverables (e.g. presentations, data tables) are of a high quality and meet project and business objectives; Effective management of internal stakeholders, and where appropriate developing relationships with external stakeholders and subject matter experts, to identify evidence gaps and insight opportunities; Objectively analysing quantitative and qualitative data, including analysis of complex datasets to ensure our insight stands up to external scrutiny and meets business needs; Working with partner agencies to deliver robust, insightful and attractive deliverables (both Power Point presentations and written reports) that tell a compelling story - and presenting these stories to senior internal stakeholders and answer the business objectives; Developing a thorough understanding of financial wellbeing and financial capability, with a particular focus on pensions and retirement.

You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience.



To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate:



Relevant experience working in research (either agency-side and/or client-side) commissioning or carrying out research and delivering insight. Experience in delivering insight programmes that focus on customer needs and / or customer outcomes. Deep knowledge and demonstrable practical application of conducting and/or managing both qualitative and quantitative research projects. Proficient in research design, development of discussion guides and questionnaires, managing fieldwork, analysis, and reporting; Ample experience of research project management and delivery, including resolving problems in a timely manner, and flagging where appropriate; Demonstrable experience of managing third party agencies and/or internal operations departments effectively; Experience of analysing quantitative and qualitative data, including complex datasets; Demonstrable experience in using consumer and market insights (both qualitative and quantitative) to tell a compelling and insightful story, in a range of formats including PowerPoint and written reports; Expert at using analytical and influencing skills to present complex information and answer questions from different audiences (e.g. senior management, policy makers and industry groups); Experience of effectively engaging, negotiating and working with subject matter experts and other key stakeholders. Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (e.g. creating formulas, lookups and references, pivot tables).

Flexible Working



At MaPS, we take pride in our flexible approach to work. As standard, we work on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. Hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and our headquarters in Bedford will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business needs, but personal and other relevant circumstances will also be considered. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
